Puckane, county tipperary is worth getting to know. Just six miles from Nenagh, County Tipperary is the lovely village of Puckane. The village is situated on the banks of the beautiful Lough Derg which is the Republic of Ireland’s second largest lake. The village of Puckane has a traditional Irish pub called Kennedy’s Pub, a shop and a tennis court. In the centre of the village are twelve holiday cottages which are situated around the village green. Head to the shores on Lough Derg for a spot of fishing, sailing and watersports.
Nearby is the bustling town of Nenagh. Two attractions that are worth visiting are Nenagh Castle that dates back to 1216, and the old gaol and Heritage Centre.
Just eighteen miles away from Puckane is the pretty town of Portumna. Attractions here include Portumna Castle and Gardens and Portumna Forest Park. The Forest Park is fantastic for walkers and cyclists.
